Well...after leaving my initial "ban worthy post" up for close to a week, it appears it's been removed. The funny thing was, it wasn't removed when my ban was issued...only after I pointed out in a post from my sons account that it was still up was it removed. Anyway...the gist of my "banned" post was as follows:
Players were debating fairy wings, the lack of direction SWG has been taking and of course, my favorite subject, "Wookiee zombies"...cuz...nothing quite says Star Wars like "Wookiee zombies"...right?! Are they coming, yeah...does that mean we all need to just shut up and not speak our minds? HELL NO! As SoE's customers, we obviously need to be MORE vocal because obviously they didn't quite understand that we wanted SWG to feel like Star Wars, not Friday the 13th! Any twit that thinks "zombies" from some fan fiction novel are truly worthy additions to SWG needs to get his ass canned!
But I digress...
My reply to a post was as follows (or close enough):
"How you **edit** up Star Wars is beyond me! You literally have to TRY to **edit** it up!"
Brutal? Yeah. Truthful? Absolutely. Fact is, zombies don't belong in any MMO set in the original trilogy timeline. Lucas left us so much to work with that I stand by my statement...how you **edit** UP Star Wars is beyond me. There's literally a thousand things I could list right now that could/should have been added to the game well before **edit**ing "zombies". Seriously...who the hell sits in a meeting discussing the future of SWG and actually has the stupidity to suggest "zombies"?! WTF?! Really?!
OK...Dotanuki did post that it was he who approached Lucas Arts with the idea of a "tie-in" to the novel (I'd link it but I got too much to type). He then goes on to toss Loche's name in the post (presumably because it gives his statements credibility?!) and says "Loche and I both read Death Troopers...blah blah blah". All I can picture is Loche sitting there reading it and getting to that part and going "Oh geezus! Why the hell'd he name ME?!".
Loche's a good guy and one hell of a dedicated Developer. Unlike Dotanuki, I do feel Loche has always had this games best interest at heart...but Dot was the Producer...Dot called the shots. Even if your boss asks you to do something you disagree with, you do it. Like it or not, job=$. $=food+clothing+shelter...therefor, job>morals (usually).
